No matter where people get their inspirations, Mr. Fake account. You thing 90% of books and media was just created from the void? The most irrational think I can hear is someone saying nonsense things like that. As for the relevance, it completely matches the Jam themes. Subjective perspective will never be objective, meaning your opinion is just water, it exists and flows. Edit: The main premise behind any game jam is to train developer's skills under certain requirements, including time.
I haven't watched "top ten most terrifying things on the DARK WEB" or any of the videos about DARK WEB.
To tell you the truth, I have no idea about DARK WEB thing =)
The inspiration for the game was The Backrooms and Deep Red (italian Profondo rosso) - a cult horror movie by Dario Argento.
That's why I have the title THE DEEP RED ROOMS. That's it.
In addition, every work has a source of inspiration. It's perfectly normal.
About of the themes for the jams... Read the rules of the jams. Horror Game Jam #13 - my game about an unlucky number and day with number 13 - friday the 13th. Also my game is horror. It all fits.
Liminal Game Jam 2023 - my game about liminal spaces. It all fits.
One Game a Month #24 - my game about night shift. It all fits.
The jam organizers accept my game. They don't mind. Then everything fits. When you create your own game jam, then you can delete my game =)
The nuanced themes of this project amazed me. I've played less grounded stories, especially "The Disciples of The Full Moon", but storytelling in this is on another level.
Characters are drawn with depth, the mystic structure of the environment keeps the tension and just raises the bar for the horror, particularly liminal spaces. Can't praise enough, but this might be your magnum opus as far as gameplay goes. Brilliant work indeed friend!
Best of luck with the jams and can't wait for more. Cheers!
Wow, thank you so much! Your kindly words and appreciation give me so much inspiration. I'm so flattered! =)
Yes, you're right. I was trying to do something new for myself. I tried to do something in between walking simulator with a liminal spaces and a visual novel. Of course, with a bit of craziness =)
Are you not embarrassed to post this on every single game jam ever? I have never wanted to play a game as LITTLE as i want to play this one, it has nothing to do with the themes and objects of these jams.
Are you not embarrassed to make a legit fool out of yourself just to have the guts to post a comment so miserable?
To start of, admitting that you have not played the game, yet criticizing its essence, I mean that's a dumbness on another level. I have seen the worst of the worst trolls on the internet make a case and even they act more sufficiently and don't trip like you did. You have not played the game and yet you judge it by what merit?
You say, "scummy and disingenuous", alright. What part of it is true? The project has been a part of 3 Game Jams, which I personally reviewed and just from quickly reading the description of each Game Jam theme - it perfectly matched the game's storyline - liminal spaces, horror, day&night - do me a favor and explain how this specific game does not match any of those themes.
But that's not even the biggest issue with your "provocative" remark. The point is, I've seen your own page - sad, just pathetic, Godot Engine built nonsenses with 0 credibility, visual design or sound design for that matter. Who do you think you are messing with mate? You have 0 sense and peak arrogance. All I see from your comment is jealousy, hate and absurtidy.
Next time, you post something on a different public forum and starting being toxic towards good game developers, such as FredRichi, trust me you won't get a nice reply like mine.
Good day and my advice - touch some grass and drink lots of water.
No actually, this project has been a part of many gamejams, for example they submitted it as part of "jame gam 29". They submitted it, then removed the submission a day before the submissions were due. If you actively watched the page you would realise this, its constantly dipping in and out of gamejams to market itself. JameGams theme was "Falling" and the item was "Bean", can you please tell me what this had to do with that?
Secondly, i dont doubt this persons game is good. I didn't take any blows at their games design or anything, in fact it looks decent. I don't know why you felt the need to attack my games or what ive built but whatever. The only thing i was commenting on was this guys scummy marketing tactics.
Honest to god, I wanted you to just stop embarrassing yourself, yet still you outdid yourself, such a waste.
Your unprofessionalism and immaturity proves me more that you are here for the reason of hate and straight up jealousy as you are truly unable to make anything work in your game development career. Let me enlighten you on your unprofessionalism: 1. If the person removes the game and leaves the Jam before the submission is due, which is the date before everyone is able to vote and actually properly review the game it is their choice and never have I EVER seen a rule, which is against it. Exactly how is that scummy, you phenomenal moron? 2. Games are not played (mostly) until the due date is over. Developers are given time to play games and leave their own rating, that's the Game Jam 101, you brainless twit. If the person was trying to promote their game, they would leave it for people to play and then get removed, you made 0 sense, absolutely, madly crazy logic.
Finally, once again, stop spamming and writing nonsensical comments. You understand nothing and just jumping on a person for no reason. Why won't you go and work on your own projects, hm? Lazy much? Oh wait, you can't work on your projects, because all 3, which I have personally seen are just pure void of nothingness.
Edit: "theme was "Falling" and the item was "Bean" - play the game and find out. Oh wait, I forgot, you are a fortune teller, who judges the game without actually spending time and playing it. My bad. (That was sarcasm, by the way, in case your brain cells can't handle this much). Also, " I don't know why you felt the need to attack my games or what I've built but whatever"- you literally attacked another developer calling their actions scummy and disingenuous, you hypocrite prick, what did you expect? To not get an answer? Grow up mate.
Thanks a lot for your support, Niven! I am very grateful to you for that =)
About that guy, who keep spaming... It's just ridiculous =) Look, my game was in another jam.
The theme was Falling. In my game the main character falls into the basement. Falling is an important part of the plot.
That's why I participated in the jam. But when I found out that the game required an additional item Bean, i quit.
I made the mistake of using the theme, but not using an extra item. No problem, i leaved the jam. I left the jam before the competition was over, before the submission is due.
I talked to the jam organizer about it. I left the jam and wished all the best to the organizer. He's a nice person, he's not mad at me. That's all =)
It is fine my friend. You are 100% correct. No one has the right to make such a fool comment about your work and especially when they don't know the details and they talk out of their ass, pardon my language.
You are more then welcome with support. Always here for a fellow game developer. Best to you and sorry for spamming as well, lol. Cheers!
Another great game! I always have a lot of fun playing through your different games!
I laughed so hard when I met Meeka, I am truly honoured! Thank you so much for including me ๐ I love the fact that everyone you encounter is extremely sketchy; I was half expecting this hotel to be a level of hell where the cursed souls get sent to.
I'm hoping to play through your KWAK III and Backrooms games soon; and as always I'm excited to see what you create next!
yes i know this story delete game hellraiser ...very sad ... but look this idea unreal hellraiser ..nice but not good ..i want hellraiser type psx ahahahah

I liked all the goofy characters and the mystery.
I'm also happy to learn how to use the game engine as well!

I completely agree with your point of view! You have a lot of experience in creating games and you're good at it.
Your words are based on experience. Too bad not everyone understands that =)
No you're wrong.

Again thanks a lot =)
Well that's some, uh, interesting character writing. How many endings are there in total?
Thanks =) Two endings.
Are you not embarrassed to post this on every single game jam ever? I have never wanted to play a game as LITTLE as i want to play this one, it has nothing to do with the themes and objects of these jams.
If you don't like my game, don't play my game =)
Its not that i don't like your game, i haven't played it, it's that your marketing tactics are scummy and disingenuous.
That's your opinion. I do not agree with it. I don't have to prove anything to you.
Just live your live and make your games. All the best =)
i'm sorry that you have to talk to people like this :c i hope you have a good day and your game is great
Thanks a lot for your support! I'm happy =)
